We dig it. I honestly wish BLQ BASIQ was around when I was in school. The basics are classic and soft materials mixed in with pieces like this coat which can add a little more style and effort to a monochromatic look or a simple jeans and tee attire. Style on, little gurus!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT : COLUMBINE SMILLE
Blogger/Stylist Columbine Smille is a favorite of mine for so many reasons. Reigning from good ol Sweden, she rocks street style perfection, a eye for minimal styling and gets her inspiration via confident, risk taking women in fashion. Woman crush wednesday? I'd say. She gets perfect fashion forward looks starting with basics staples like boyfriend jeans, basic tees, chunky knits and classic peacoats mixed with statement pieces, bold shapes or a unique accessory. A personal favorite of mine is her twist on mens wear, the military jacket, unconditional love of stripe tops and a no guilt (no reason to) commitment to head to toe black looks - swooon. Her style can be followed on her curated page on Space Matters but you can find most of her looks, unsurprisingly via street style photos.
WISH (I) WAS HERE - NY & LONDON FASHION WEEK PICKS
Oh what I wouldn't give to hop on a plane and make my attendee debut at New York Fashion Week this year. Kicking off last week (2/10) the world renown event has been flooding each and every social media platform I check daily and it's DRIVIN ME CRAZAY! And let's not forget London Fashion Week. LFW began just a few hours ago, yet I'm already ogling pics from some of my favorite designers' showcases. Alas, I am sitting here in Seattle, far away from the flashing lights and furry mule slides. From miles and miles away I'll share with you my very favorite NYFW and LFW looks so far. Sit back and enjoy ;)
My very first pick is UK designer Charlotte Simone. We all know FLAIR is big this season - and has been goin strong for quite a while! Pins, patches, badges, and FUR bobbles and add-ons. Charlotte Simone's designs are cheeky yet smart - fun yet polished accessories for the kooky yet refined lady. And LOOK at those Adidas colab sneakers. Help me. CS just launched a line of outerwear and I can't get enough.
My next pick is the Outdoor Voices X APC Colab. You know by now that we love New York lifestyle/gear brand OV. And with an already strong obsession for French label APC, the marriage of the two is almost too much for me to handle.
Sophisticated Parisian fashion meets polished, laid back leisure. Image by Hypebeast
THIS. COLLECTION'S. STYLING. Have you heard of Brother Vellies yet?! African artisan inspired and crafted footwear from Toronto designer Aurora James. Socially responsible and so, so beautiful. Natural, organic influence meets mod cool.
The Brother Vellies designer, Aurora James, herself. Her personal style is amazing! Image by Racked
Sadie Williams collection is 70's/sportswear meets future/space. Sounds pretty good, amirite?
Typical Freaks is the best. Graphic, raver, throwback, and a little bit punk rock, DIY. The ever popular neoprene jacket vibe gets a chenille-like patch update.
Caitlin Charles-Jones blends comfy and graphic with adventurous silhouettes. Perfect for playing with proportion and mixing/matching. The tones and textures are beautiful!
My last two picks combine serene luxury with a sportswear twist. I think I have a theme going here? Dreamy silks and shiny, delicate details combined with flowy, causual, yet sophstacted shapes. Take a gander at Public School and Calvin Klein's icy chill/ fantasy inspired looks.
Well, that's all folks! Hope you've enjoyed my (very brief, in the grand scheme of things) roundup. Let us know your FW faves! We can long in fashion envy/solidarity. And until I can actually attend (ANY) Fashion Week one day, I'll just keep dreaming/social media/ internet stalking/drooling
Happy weekend!

BLQ SHERLING CAMO JACKET
Although the name lacks in creativity and shys on the cheesy side, College Fashionista has a cool platform for highlighting students with a sense of personal style, chosen by fellow students. It's a fun site to browse and throws me back into what I frighteningly wore while in school. Back in my day, I chose whatever was closest to my bed or the ever glamorous groutfit before it was at all cool, or cute or even socially acceptable - dark days (or just ahead of the curve??!). Let's just say I wouldn't have pulled off this styling of the Camo Sherling Jacket from BLQ BASIQ as this chic lady does. Check out the article with styling tips and of a course to a link yours truly's Came Jacket (which sadly is sold out currently. Sorry folks! We still wanted to share these cool looks though, don't hate us).
MUSIC VIBES
Right now us P+R gals are girl crushing hard with everything Erykah Badu. How can you not??
SALE SALE SALE
I feel like I don't need an explanation for how great this skirt is. So I'm not going to (but for the record though, its the Gravity Skirt by Maurie & Eve). The boots are also on sale (whaaaa?? I know.) The Fox boots are actually comfortable. and cute. and have that awesome white detailing along the sole which makes them different than the 8 other black boots in your closet so you should make sure to add these to your wardrobe as well.
CAMEO PRIMETIME JUMPER BLACK
Another favorite jacket is the Fifth Label powder blue wrap coat. This is the grande finale folks. An oversized collar and waist tie closure make this such a beautiful coat that hangs perfectly. Not to mention this coat is a STEAL. LITERALLY. A crime worthy STEAL. Do not miss out. This is important. I will be sad to see it go out the door but whoever takes it home is a lucky lady. Oh, and it comes in red. MIC DROP.
Fala is one of our favorite brands we carry. The materials are always great quality and unique for the piece. This button down shirt dress is no exception. The Aline tunic shirt dress is made of 100% silk, with leather piping along the pockets, its flowy and perfect with skinny jeans and boots. We also love the dress look with a simple slip underneath or throwing it on open buttoned over any outfit. We paired it here with a Sea + Pattern necklace and black jeans.
Faux fur. Lets talk about it. Or just how great it looks in cropped jacket form. One of the best features about this coat is that you can wear an all black assemble and it doesn't really count as all black because theres that extra fur texture to mix it up. At least that's my reasoning and I stand by it. We also love it over pretty much any outfit, multi-colored or all black.
Aside from these, we have so many other really great items that are marked 30% to 70% off. And, if for whatever reason you are unable to make up your mind on sale items, our new arrivals for spring are slowing coming into the store and would love some of the attention as well. January get at us.

HOLIDAY FLURRY
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! We sincerely hope everyone had wonderful winter holidays whether it be Hanukkah, Christmas or any other festive event and of course New Years! So long 2015 you've been a peach but on to bigger and better things (and to me writing 2015 oops 2016 on everything for the next two months)!
Pipe and Row was hopping this holiday season, we had our big monthly event that kicked off our big before holiday sale that led into our big after holiday sale. Yes, you're all welcome for those :) It meant lots of gift wrapping, gift shopping and of course eating and drinking. Now our post Holiday sale is still going on and everyone needs to stop by! We've got tons of great items we want out the door. More importantly, our winter accessories are pretty much a must have for these final months of chilly weather. Hats and poms, poms and hats, poms poms poms, candles, and jewelry are all on my current post shopping list. Why? WHY NOT I'D SAY. Plus, with all my holiday cookies and overindulgence, accessories are my jam these days. Whoever said sweatpants cant be dressed up with a little bolo choker and stud earring clearly has never consumed a dozen cookies and a few pies over the holidays. And because I am totally okay with that expandable waistline, I'm embracing the opportunity to explore ways to style accessories.
SHOP FUR POM POM KEYCHAINS HERE
I, for one was really excited about ringing in the New Year. We hope you are all excited as well and had a fun evening planned whether you were chilling at home or out covered in glitter confetti at an event of venue. Although, I'm not one for New Years resolutions, I hope everyone has some new goals in mind. Pipe and Row's 2016 goals are pretty much to rock 2016 and have a blast doing it with new brands, returning favorite brands, new items and new artists or local talent. Happy 2016!

GUEST POST: NEON DOVES- P+R SUPERFAN
Hey y'all, Hayley here from Neon Doves and I'm stoked to be guest blogging today for P+R :)
I'm a sucker for versatility, I have to say. In fact, I often legitimize expensive items when I know it's something that I would wear outside of work as well as on my personal time (which essentially means out at the bars, let's just be real) Oh this is four hundred dollars? Well I'm technically going to wear it on the weekends and at work so that basically means it's two hundred dollars.... I mean am I right or am I right?
Pipe + Row is my favorite shop in Seattle because the owner, Kayla, is ahead of the curve on so many levels so I can rely on her for up and coming trends. I trust her as a buyer, completely. I also appreciate the fact that the store offers a wide range of prices. From high end to affordable to everything in between. So basically synonymous to pieces in my closet. With that being said, it's no surprise that I bought my most recent staple piece at P+R. My boyfriend would say that I've borderline slept in it since buying it, which is embarrassingly accurate. I'm talking about the BLQ Oversized Trench and I love her like I love Chipotle. I have a weird obsession with raw hem, so her beauty caught my eye immediately. After placing her on my bod and everything hung in all the right places, I was convinced she was at least six hundred dollars. Wool + Raw Hem + Perfect Fit almost always = Hella Dolla Bills, y'all. That's where the catch is with this essential piece of glory; she's beyond affordable. A staple coat for under $150? I mean that just doesn't exist. That's probably why I just bought her in grey, too. Point being, my lovelies, is that if you're looking for that "one piece I need to have to bring any outfit to oh hey girl status", you've just found her.
Here wearing the BLQ Wool Trench and BLQ Tunic Dress. We also love to pair the Lacausa slip dresses with this trench here.
Here wearing that beloved trench (obviously) and some of my Fresh Tangerine jewelry!
I could go on and on about all the goodies I've snagged from P+R since it's been open, but let's be real, it would take a fair while and we have things to do! Okay but it's definitely necessary that I mention these leather buckle beauts and beige layered dress that have also come home with me recently. Do I like them? Let's just say they've been sharing the bed right there with me and the trench. Sorry bf, we have to make room for the whole family. Point is, P+R, peep that ish.
Be sure to check out more P+R posts from Neon Doves and just read it cuz theres always fun stuff going on there!
FREMONT'S THIRD THURSDAY: NOVEMBER EDITION
Alright folks, pull on your Stutterheims and shake off this cruddy weather, we're not letting it get in the way of our plans. Constant rain can only mean that the holidays are just around the corner (and reminds us that there are places like the Bahamas where we could live)! Not only do we have some great new items streaming in, we also have some great events coming up! First off, we have our monthly Fremont Third Thursday! Wooooo!
Last month was the first kick-off of our local event and we couldn't be more excited to do it again this month! So, next Thursday, November 19th, all the shops in Fremont will be putting out lit Planet Disco balls outside their stores to let you know they're participating. We ourselves will be placing our disco ball out at 1 o'clock sharp, have our table of goodies and snacks paired with some tasty beverages ready to go and of course inform you of the store wide discount! I've said this before, but I truly am a fan of everything in that last sentence right down to the disco ball so I don't know why anyone would miss this.
This month we're inviting a good friend of ours to come as a special guest for the event! Lauren Tilden is a talented artist who specializes in calligraphy. We recently started carrying her beautiful hand made greeting cards with creative quotes and sayings on them. They've gotten a lot of love so far! At next weeks Thursday event we've got the actual woman, the myth, the legend, Lauren, coming into the store to do live hand written letters for customers. Creative, unique and fun you say? A perfect guest to come hang at Fremont's Third Thursday? What a great gift idea for all those holiday needs?? We thought so too.
Make sure you get this event on your calendar for next week: November 19th, 1-8 pm throughout the Fremont neighborhood! We will even be doing holiday gift wrapping so that you don't have to put down your glass of cabernet while still getting all your holiday shopping done and ready to go. Let me help you being a loving friend or family member.
We didn't even get to chat about the holidays in this post that much but not to worry - this event, although our regular monthly event, will surely be the kick off for all the fun festivities coming this season. I'll be sure to keep you updated on all our events and favorite holiday trends and activities. I'm thinking something along the lines of "Favorite Holiday Pies and the Best Elastic Pants - Full Can be Cute too." You know you can't afford to miss that.
ERIN'S PICKS: FALL FAVORITES
October is my favorite month. For one, October means it's Halloween time! Also, it's the first month where I can really start to feel the season change (which means it's time to break out my cold weather clothes.) As someone who relies heavily on layering to style almost all of my outfits, it's a relief when the crisp weather starts to strike. This means I can stop wearing whatever confused summer outfits I've thrown together (I'm calling my summer aesthetic poolside dad) and really start wearing the cozy/more elaborate pieces that I love! We've got some awesome fall pieces in the shop that I've been dying to sport and now is the time!
I believe my style oscillates between laid back/minimal and quirky/fashion conscious. I find the pieces that I am usually drawn towards a) must be cozy b) must be versatile enough to pair with either an easygoing outfit or a more *showstopping* getup c) must be either oversized or perfect for playing with proportions/layering. This outfit checks off all my boxes. I am OBSESSED with this BLQ camo coat. I knew the moment we got it in the shop I had to have it. The camo fleece textile with the contrast black vegan suede, exposed zipper, and oversized collar make it the perfect, unexpected piece. I throw it over everything. I also love this Knot Sisters dress. I usually don't go for body con, the but ribbed texture with the balance of the high neck and the slightly longer hem (it's all about balance) really makes it the perfect all purpose dress.
Lately I've been loving the idea of monochromatic outfits. Picking pieces of the same color/tone and using texture, weight, length, and fit to create interest in your outfit is one of my favorite trends right now. We in the shop are always dying over our latest Achro Brand pieces and these two are no exception. We can't keep this sweater on the shelves and I never want to take it off. The high neck, oversized sleeves, and incredible texture take it from your average cozy pullover to your fall MUST HAVE. I paired it with this amazing WOOL Achro wrap skirt. I want to wear this skirt with every outfit. The details are incredible and it is so versatile and comfortable, laid back yet innovative. I think next I'll pair it with a collared shirt, graphic pullover fleece, and some low profile sneakers :)
Fun Fashion Tip: If you're low maintenance when it comes to the hairdo department (gulity) October is the perfect month for the every-outfit beanie. I'm obsessed with pom poms and this does not stop at hats. We've got an array of colors in the shop (even some with fur poms!) I took home an oversized black pom beanie and have yet to take it off.
October in Seattle means THE RAIN IS HERE TO STAY! Being a Seattleite usually means having a love/hate relationship with the familiar showers, but I'm not even kidding when I say this: having a Stutterheim in my closet makes me stoked to see downfall on the weather forecast. Before I picked up my Stutterheim I looked like a sad camping dad in my hiking jacket whenever precipitation hit. Now rain means my outfit is going to be even snazzier because I can throw this guy on. They're all PVC coated cotton, designed in Sweden and handmade in Poland. With double welded seams, no rain's getting through this baby! We always have these jackets in a variety of colors and styles (for men and women!) so choosing your favorite is on you :) The most practical fashion choice you can make. I paired my coat with my favorite One Teaspoon merino wool slouch pants.
Words cannot describe how excited I am to finally don my autumn favorites. I've picked up so many great pieces at the shop over time that it was hard to even begin to decide what to share for this season. The great part is that we're always getting in new styles! As a person with a coat/sweater passion, it's hard for me to control myself. But you don't have to :) However you do fall, come down to the shop and we'll hook you up. Now go put on your cold weather faves and enjoy that pumpkin spice latte.

FREMONT'S THIRD THURSDAY
Fremont is a pretty cool neighborhood to begin with. We've got some of our favorite restaurants (if you haven't been to Revel you know what you're doing this weekend), bars, tourist attractions (um, free chocolate at a a local chocolate factory - sign me up, tourist or not) and of course some of the best boutiques around including yours truly, PIPE + ROW. We love Fremont and want to make it even better, so our latest collaboration with small businesses in the neighborhood has been Fremont's Third Thursday.
LIKE THE FREMONT THIRD THURSDAY PAGE FOR ALL THE MOST UP TO DATE INFO :) NEXT EVENT DATES ARE NOV 19TH, AND DEC 17TH SEE YOU THERE!
This event will happen every third Thursday of the month and involves thirteen local businesses. We want to celebrate independent business owners and our customers! Fremont's unique vibe is due to a lot of factors but we feel that our small businesses have such an impact on the diverse character of the area that we want to make sure we support for each other, locals and supportive customers! Each month, stores will offer drinks, nibbles and promotions (we will be doing trunk shows in the future)! Currently, each business that is participating hangs an awesome Saturn plant disco ball (it lights up and everything!) outside their store to show they are involved and then will tell you their promotions once inside. We did 15% off the whole store (whaaat) and participated in the raffle with all the stores! Even as I'm writing this it sounds too good to be true - wine, a discount and extra goodies? You heard right ma ladies. We blasted some good music, chatted, sipped and shopped the night away. There was a mix of new customers who happened to stumble across this great event and local customers who came out especially for the night! We want to thank everyone who did make it out, planned or not. We had a great time here at P+R and hope you did too. Hoping it to be the first of many third Thursdays out and about in Fremont! Get ready for a good ol photo bomb from the night.
TIS THE SEASON FOR DENIM
Autumn is finally here, and I'm declaring Fall 2015 the Season for Denim. From the runways to the streets, denim has taken over, and boy is it having its day. This season is all about updating your classic favorites with new twists and just a little bit of retro influence. From patchwork to bleach detail, raw edges to inventive methods of distress, unexpected touches elevate your wardrobe staples to too-cool stand alone pieces.
