TIS THE SEASON FOR DENIM

Autumn is finally here, and I'm declaring Fall 2015 the Season for Denim. From the runways to the streets, denim has taken over, and boy is it having its day. This season is all about updating your classic favorites with new twists and just a little bit of retro influence. From patchwork to bleach detail, raw edges to inventive methods of distress, unexpected touches elevate your wardrobe staples to too-cool stand alone pieces.

No one knows more about elevating denim than Australia's One Teaspoon. The brand specializes in taking tried and true pieces to a whole new level and we're all about it . The Zeppelin Shirt, one of our Fall favorites, hits all of the marks: a chic take on both Western and menswear in a sleek and modern wash that works both on its own or as the perfect lightweight throw-over.

We've seen our fair share of distressed denim this year, but not quite like this. We're obsessed with One Teaspoon's Awesome Baggies, our new go-to black jeans. Skirting the edge between a relaxed boyfriend jean and fashion forward skinny, the Baggies take on distressed a whole new way. Incorporating both fraying and patchwork, these pants add a level of edge and newness to even the most laid back of outfits (plus they'll still keep ya warm!)

I love this outfit because a mixture of textures, colors, lengths, and detailing (like cuffing, layering, and rolling) has made DENIM ON DENIM look easy, polished, and current. Throw on a tee (or button your shirt all the way up) and add updated mule, sneaker, or bootie, and you're the Denim Queen of the streets.

Here's the great thing: denim will never go out of style; it's just always evolving, which allows us to always try new things (remember your bedazzled back pockets?) So have fun with it! Whether you want to get crazy and rock a jean culotte with a denim duster, or a timeless jean and top combo with new twists, we say go for it and embrace everything this season's denim forecast has to offer.

Happy Styling
